The ConvEx-3 (2017) 3rd Task Group Meeting

The meeting took place at Paks, Hungary on 27 and 28 February, 2017. Representatives of the relevant Hungarian authorities, members of the ConvEx-3 (2017) Task Group and representatives of Hungarian neighbouring countries and international organizations (International Atomic Energy Agency, European Commission, World Health Organization, World Meteorological Organization), were invited to participate in the meeting.

The tasks of the Deputy Director General for General Nuclear Issues is provisionally carried out by the Director General of the HAEA

Mr Kristóf Horváth, Deputy Director General for General Nuclear Issues of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority resigned on 1 March 2017. According to the rules of substitution his tasks are provisionally carried out by Mr Gyula Fichtinger, Director General of the HAEA.

On 1st March Unit 2 of Paks NPP was operating with reduced capacity for a short time

On 1st March, due to the automatic activation of the safety system, the MVM Paks Nuclear Power Plant operated with reduced capacity. The safety of the unit has not been compromised.

Entrance to HAEA headquarters has changed

Due to construction works on the office building, entrance to the headquarters of HAEA has changed from 1st March 2017. Visitors can enter the building from Pacsirtamező Street 17., 1036 Budapest. (Limited number of parking places are available for guests arriving by car.) Pass with photo (ID card, passport, drivers’ license, etc.) is required for registration. The mailing address of HAEA has not been changed.
