Chinese delegation paid a visit on 16 August 2013 to Mr Kristóf Horváth, Deputy Director General of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority. Mr Wang Jun, Secretary General of the State Nuclear Security Technology Center mentioned: international awareness has been raised because of the successful IPPAS mission of Hungary. The Secretary General took the advantage of the meeting to congratulate for the good results.
Mr Pál Kovács, the Minister of State for Climate Change and Energy on June 10th 2013 announced that the Prime Minister Mr Viktor Orbán appointed Mr Gyula Fichtinger, the former Deputy Director General of HAEA as the Director General of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority.

Recent Developments in Nuclear Safety in Hungary - MAY 2013
At the request of the Government of Hungary (received from the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority - HAEA by the International Atomic Energy Agency - IAEA on 20 June 2012), the IAEA agreed to conduct an IPPAS mission to Hungary in May - June 2013. Initial discussions were held in September 2012, during which general issues related to the conduct of the mission were discussed. In order to continue preparation for the mission, formal preparatory meeting was convened at HAEA from 22 to 23 January 2013.
