The European Nuclear Security Regulators' Association (ENSRA), decided on cooperation with the Western European Nuclear Regulators’ Association (WENRA) on the annual meeting, held between 30th September and 2nd October, and approved the new website, created under the Hungarian chairmanship, to be public.
On the three days long session the member
states presented the last year’s improvements, incidents and achievements
related to nuclear security. They also shared their experiences on the
physical protection of nuclear facilities and materials.
One of the highlighted topics was the
WENRA-ENSRA cooperation: in the future the two chairmen will take part
in the other association’s annual meetings, to strengthen the common work
in nuclear safety and security regulators.
The Hungarian chairmanship introduced
the new ENSRA website, which was approved by the members and it is going
to be available on www.ensra.org
address. The seminar’s presentations were held about current topics like
cyber security, transport security of the nuclear materials, insider threat,
security exercises and the threat caused by drones.
On the last day the participants visited Paks Nuclear Power Plant, where the representatives of the NPP presented the physical protection system that was followed by a field trip.
