Invitation to the Open Day at the HAEA

The Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority - following the tradition of previous years - joined the European Heritage Days program series this year as well, and opens its doors to visitors for one day. Guided visits start on September the 20th (Saturday), 2014 at 2, 3 and 4pm. During the open day activities there will be presentations about interesting topics such as the licensing process of the new units of the Paks nuclear power plant, or terrorism targeting nuclear objectives. After the presentations, the HAEA’s Centre for Emergency Response, Training and Analysis (CERTA) can be visited in guided groups, where the activities of the Centre will be presented based on a simulated nuclear accident. The language of the programs is Hungarian.

Visit of Slovakian Nuclear Authority Experts at the HAEA

Experts of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic (UJD) have visited the HAEA and held consultations with their Hungarian counterparts in order to improve professional relationships between national authorities and to study safety analyses of accidents and the practice of inspections carried out by the Hungarian authority.

CTBTO Equipment Familiarization Activity in Hungary

Under the agreement of the Hungarian Government and the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, Equipment Familiarization Activity took place from March 24 to March 28 2014 in Romhány. Three staff members and four surrogate inspector trainees from training cycles of the Commission participated in the five-day event.
