The first press conference of 2015 at the HAEA starts at 10:30 am on January 27, 2015. Licensing of the new units, life extension of the existing units of Paks NPP, accident and breakdown prevention and international review of Hungary will be on focus. The language of the event is Hungarian.
To get public feedback, the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG) uploaded the updated National Action Plans to its webpage. It is written there that it “is designed to collect the feedback from the general public and stakeholders, to the updated National Action Plan reports prepared by the Member States as a follow-up to the European Stress Test programme.”
On the 8th of December 2014, a Vietnamese delegation led by Mr Hoang Anh Tuan, Director General of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Agency visited the HAEA and was received by Mr Szabolcs Hullán, Deputy Director General. The visitors were primarily interested in the opportunities to train nuclear specialists within the framework of cooperation between the two countries.
In May 2015, an IAEA Integrated Regulatory Review Service (IRRS) mission will take place in Hungary. International experts will review the Hungarian national regulatory infrastructure for safety and security against IAEA recommendations and international best practices. As part of the preparation for the mission, on 1-2 October 2014 a two-day meeting was held at the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority in Budapest.
