The joint eighth and ninth review meeting of the Convention on Nuclear Safety (CNS) will take place in Vienna from 20 to 31 March 2023. Hungary will be represented at the two-week meeting by a delegation of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Ministry of Energy, the Paks Nuclear Power Plant Ltd. and the Paks II Ltd. >>>

The Convention on Nuclear Safety (CNS) aims to commit Contracting Parties operating land-based civil nuclear power plants to maintain a high level of safety by establishing fundamental safety principles to which States would subscribe.

The Convention is based on the Parties’ common interest to achieve higher levels of safety. Under the Convention, Parties report, inter alia, on the status of implementation of their obligations through "peer reviews".
