Visit of Bulgarian Experts at the HAEA

In January 2015 four experts of the Bulgarian Nuclear Regulatory Agency (BNRA) led by Ms Krasimira Ivanova paid a one-week scientific visit to the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority (HAEA) supported by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). As part of the program HAEA professionals gave them an overview of the organization, implementation and review of trainings and exercises related to emergency preparedness and response (EPR).


Mr Géza Macsuga, the leader responsible for nuclear emergency preparedness and response at the HAEA gave detailed information about the Hungarian Nuclear Emergency Response System; the roles and responsibilities of the HAEA in the area of EPR and the experiences during the National Nuclear Emergency Response Exercise in 2013. Mr Csaba Balogh, Mr András Kármán and Mr Márton Keresztes presented the Nuclear, Radiological and Management Group of HAEA ERO and its training and exercise programs. The guests also visited the Emergency Management Centre of Paks Nuclear Power Plant, where they were informed about the operation and the training system of emergency preparedness and response in the nuclear power plant.
