The delegation of the Bulgarian Nuclear Regulatory Agency (BNRA) - led by the President, Dr Latchesar Kostov - paid a visit to Hungary from 27 to 29 January, 2020. The delegation was received by Mr Szabolcs Hullán, Deputy Director General of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority.
On the first day, HAEA experts held several
presentations about the activities of the Authority, the new Nuclear Power
Plant project, the licensing process related to the new NPP, the regulatory
experience on audit and inspection reviews.
The Bulgarian experts gave an overview
on the activities and role of the BNRA, its legal framework, regulatory
experience and the state of play of the Belene project.
During the 3-day program, the delegation
visited the Minister without portfolio responsible for the planning, construction
and commissioning of the two new units at the Paks Nuclear Power Plant.
They also paid a visit to the Ministry for Innovation and Technology, the
Paks II. Ltd., and the Paks NPP.
