The delegation of the Serbian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency, led by its chairman, Mr Sladjan Velinov, paid a visit to Hungary from 25 to 27 March, 2019 and was received by Mr Szabolcs Hullán, Deputy Director General of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority. The main topics of the discussion included the radioactive waste management policy and programme.
The Serbian experts described the main
tasks and activities of their regulatory body, the regulations in radioactive
waste management and transport.
As part of the three-day program, the Serbian delegation visited the Radioactive Waste Treatment and Disposal Facility for institutional waste storage in Püspökszilágy, the National Radioactive Waste Repository, where low and medium level radioactive waste from the Nuclear Power Plant is stored, as well as the Spent Fuel Interim Storage Facility, which stores the spent fuel of Paks NPP for 50 years before its final disposal.
