After its successful audit, the ISO 9001 Quality Management System Certification of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority is valid for another three years. The HAEA staff has been preparing itself for the audit for several months revising and updating all the processes, workflows and the quality management document of the organization.
In 2002, the Hungarian
Atomic Energy Authority developed its Quality Management System (QMS),
which complies with the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001 standard certified
by the Hungarian Standards Board. According to the strict rules, there
is an internal and an external review every year and a so-called recertification
process takes place every three years at the Authority.
By the QMS certification
the HAEA proves to its clients, the domestic and international organizations
and the general public, that its internal work processes, regulations,
records management, and the management of the affairs of the external partners
meet the most stringent quality control standards.
The recertification process
was carried out by the Hungarian Standards Board in March 2015. Ms Judit
Silye, quality control manager of the Authority, said that during the preparation
the operation and document management of all the departments at the Authority
had been revised and the quality control documentation supporting the main
processes had been updated as necessary. Ms Silye added: "The Standards
Board previously received the report in which the results of the internal
review and the achievement of specified development proposals in the last
year were summarized."
As Mr István Kapuvári,
Deputy Head of Department at the Hungarian Standards Board, pointed out
at the handover of the certification document: the quality management system
of the HAEA worked well and met the requirements of the standard, notwithstanding
the high workload at the Authority.
The certification document,
with maintenance decisions to be issued in 2016 and 2017, is valid for
three years.
