The Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority continues to carry out its official duties and regulatory work in compliance with the restrictive measures imposed by the Government and the Operational Staff because of the coronavirus situation. The HAEA has set up a Defense Working Committee whose task is to ensure the protection of workers, to continuously monitor government decisions related to the pandemic, and to organize the operation of the HAEA so that the performance of regulatory activities is continuously ensured.
On the basis of the recommendations of
the Defense Working Committee, the Director General of the HAEA decided
on a number of measures, such as recently requiring his colleagues returning
from official missions or private journeys abroad to stay at home for two
weeks. HAEA provides its government officials with the opportunity to carry
out their tasks by remote access (teleworking). Based on the decision of
the Director General, procurement of disinfectants, hand sanitizers and
personal protective equipment, as well as rescheduling of work, enhanced
cleaning, the necessary IT developments, and reorganization of on-duty
work will be implemented.
Protecting the health of its staff is of paramount importance to the HAEA, for which the Authority has taken many steps. In addition, we must not forget that in the event of a pandemic, it is also the personal responsibility of everyone to comply with the rules. The HAEA requires responsible behaviour from all of its employees.
