„Strategic Energy Technology Plan Conference: Scaling up Research, Innovation and Competitiveness in Clean Energy Technologies”: the high-level conference was organised under the patronage of the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the EU in cooperation with the Commission. At the event held in mid-November, experts discussed topics such as: empowering climate-neutral and more competitive industries through electrification and flexibility, energy systems, including grids and digitalisation, driving forward the urban energy transition. Ms Andrea Beatrix Kádár, the president of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority participated in the panel discussion on nuclear innovation and safety. During the discussion she highlighted the importance of addressing key challenges aiming at more innovative and competitive nuclear sector, at the same time she underlined that the nuclear safety cannot be compromised: “we have to maintain the highest nuclear safety standards” – emphasized Ms Andrea Beatrix Kádár.
What is SET Plan? The European Strategic Energy Technology Plan aims to accelerate the deployment of green technologies. It’s a key part of Europe’s plan to move towards a climate-neutral energy system, meaning we use less carbon and cleaner energy, while doing it quickly and at lower costs.
