ENSREG plenary meeting in Brussels with participation of the HAEA President

The 56th plenary meeting of the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG) was held in Brussels on 1 April 2025. The Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority (HAEA) was represented at the event by President Andrea Beatrix Kádár.

During the meeting besides discussing the administrative matters, participants were briefed by the Board for Stress Tests in Third Countries. Furthermore participants reviewed the activities of the working groups since the last plenary meeting, as well as the lessons learned from the Second Topical Peer Review on fire protection and the activities of the SMR Task Force on regulatory aspects of small modular reactor (SMR) licensing.

In addition, a separate agenda item was devoted to the situation of nuclear power plants in Ukraine and the issue of nuclear safety in the context of the armed conflict.

The next plenary meeting will take place in fall 2025.
