With the participation of the Czech, Hungarian, Slovak and Slovenian nuclear authorities, the usual annual quadrilateral meeting was held in Ptuj, Slovenia, on 3-4 April. The Hungarian delegation was led by Mr Szabolcs Hullán, Deputy Director General of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority.
The participants of the event presented
the most important developments and changes in their organizations and
in the legal framework of their countries, described events happened in
their respective facilities since the last year’s meeting, provided information
on key issues related to physical protection, and reviewed the current
status of regulatory activities in connection to new nuclear units.
The authorities in almost all four countries
(as in previous years) identified human resources issues and the recruitment
of new staff as one of the most important challenges.
The next meeting will be hosted by the Czech Republic in 2020.
