From September 17, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) held a 4-day workshop involving experts from the United States of America and the Netherlands. The event was partly hosted by the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority and partly by the Paks Nuclear Power Plant.
The workshop was focusing on lifetime extension of nuclear power plants and aging management. The participants received an overview of the requirements for lifetime extension on national level, the IAEA standards supporting aging management and lifetime extension, the IAEA guidelines that support regulatory work. At the workshop, the invited experts presented, through international practical examples, the experiences (focusing on the USA in detail) related to the identification of the systems and system components of the nuclear power plant to be reviewed.
