Recent Developments in Nuclear Safety in Hungary, June 2025

The latest issue of Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority’s Nuclear Safety Bulletin presenting a number of interesting articles is now available. The new issue covers the 2024 annual safety performance assessment of nuclear facilities, changes in legislation related to the use of nuclear energy and its supervision, the nuclear emergency preparedness, the shutdown of a main circulation pump at Paks NPP, and the cracks in the wall of the working pit of Unit 5 area and the detachment of wall corners.

We also give an overview on the most significant domestic and international events, such as the "About Atomic Energy - for Everyone" event in Győr, the status of Ukrainian nuclear facilities during the Russian-Ukrainian war, the 8th Joint Convention of the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the second topical peer review.
