Carmina Jimenez, expert of the International Atomic Energy Agency, came to Hungary for a one-day visit to discuss national and regional projects supported by the IAEA Technical Cooperation Programme.
Representatives of the relevant Hungarian
organizations (National Institute of Oncology, BME Institute of Nuclear
Techniques, Centre for Energy Research, National Food Chain Safety Office,
and National Public Health Center, Department of Radiobiology and Radiohygene)
also participated in the talks held at the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority
on 4 February. An important topic of the discussion was the priorities
and budget options of the Hungarian national project starting in the 2020-2021
cycle. Participants also talked about the most effective application of
the criteria set by the IAEA and the requirements to be met in the next
project cycle, 2022-2023.
The aim of the IAEA Technical Cooperation
Programme is to improve the human resources and institutional capacities
of the member states to promote the safe, secure and peaceful application
of nuclear science and technology.
