Regional workshop at the HAEA on insider threat mitigation

Representatives of domestic nuclear facilities, experts from authorities and nuclear facilities of various countries, as well as numerous invited internationally recognized experts attended at the event.

During the four-day workshop, the participants received presentations of the invited experts in panel discussions, and in smaller groups, they got familiar with the experiences of participating countries on their insider threat mitigation activities. The main topic of the event was the evaluation and challenges of the insider threat, and the possible corrective measures aimed at mitigating the threat.

The participants expressed that the workshop was useful and effective, and the HAEA remains determined to organize similar trainings and events for domestic specialists in the future, in cooperation with the US Department of Energy, thereby supporting the development of nuclear security of Hungary.
